| Last night I rode through Red Lodge and kept going hoping to reach Wyoming prior to looking for a place to stay. After going about 20 miles out of town and up into the Beartooth Pass, I realized that it was far too beautiful to not have time to stop and enjoy now and then. I decided to go back to Red Lodge and find a motel. This was not too easy to do because this is a prime place to come for some summer skiing. I finally lucked into the last ground floor room at the motel at the far East side of town. Met some folks there from State College, PA who were here on a ski holiday. Funny, I did not even consider the possibility of skiing on this trip, but I am already overly ambitious. Had a so-so dinner and worked on the last update to this journey. I didn't know that would be the last wi-fi I'd see for some time. As you will see, turning back was one of the BEST decisions I have made on this trip. |
