| A really good day for riding. Along the way, Claudia did some research as to a good place to stop. There are two campgrounds in the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in western North Dakota. Claudia called and there were a few vacancies mid-day, but they were filling up. I rode to the Cottonwood Campground next to the Little Missouri River. A friendly camper lady informed me at the gate, where she was involved in a tail-gate party, that there was only one spot left, #3. I quick filled out the campsite form, inserted my $5 (Senior Discount) and posted the receipt on the campsite #3 identify pole. Poor luck for the two vehicles that were just behind me. |

| 1625 I had been noticing that one of my turn signals was at first intermittent, then non-functional, and later when I checked BOTH of my front signals were out. I saw this dealer's sign on the interstate and got there 15 minutes before closing. I talked to the service tech and he ran through a thought process for both to be not working. Ground wire, shorted wire, and a number of other prospects, all would require more time than what was available. Then he said that the one in a million solution was that BOTH bulbs were out. I said lets try that. So he pops off the lens and there is water in the socket, evidently from running though so much rain for so long. Somehow the water had gotten passed the gasket. Same for the other side. So with two new bulbs I was back on the road in prefect running order. This was the only time I left a service desk with a bill under $10.00. | |
| 2113 This is billed as the 'Largest Metal Sculpture in the World'. Sitting prominently on this hilltop, it is truly a pleasure to see. I believe it is called 'Flying Geese', but I need to check Roadside America on that...I didn't stop because the access road was not too convenient and I was in a dash to fine a campground for the night. | |
